The Lonf Road to Weight Loss

If you're reading this hopefully you are looking for some tips on how to loose weight. Before beginning you must believe the following.

1) There is NO magic pill that will help you accomplish this. Of course there are diet pills out in the market that may help you loose 1-2 pounds and have some placebo effect but you must stay away from them. They are not the answer.

2) There is NO magic diet that will help you accomplish this. Of course there is science backing those ridiculous diets that fall into the extreme category, but stay away from them. The Atkins, the Grapefruit diet, all of these should be avoided. Yes you may know people who have lost weight with them but they are not healthy. A proper diet should be filled with color and variety. Lots of fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, healthy proteins, and yes some carbs. This blog is NOT just about loosing weight. You must see the whole picture. Being healthy is not just about loosing weight. That is simply part of it.

3) You must begin to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. This does not mean running out and signing up to a gym. Take small steps like starting with a walk every day, and work your way up to more challenging workouts.

4) You CAN NOT do this alone. If you have a family, friends, they need to be a part of it in order for it to work. If you have children for example you can not continue to serve them the same diet and expect to change yourself. You can not vow to exercises every day, if they are at home playing video games. Whatever your situation may be you need to find a way to synthesize the changes you are making with the people in your daily life. Otherwise it will not work.

5) You must take this one step at a time. Loosing weight is a long road but a worthy and exciting one. You must start with one small change at a time. The key is consistency.

6) You must ask for help. Weather you write in and ask me, your family, or your friends you need to let people know that you need help.

Stay tuned for more, when I will post a page filled with advice about how to make those first tiny changes. You will feel the difference.

Good Luck with everything!
